Ed Goodall

As Climate Policy Specialist at the World Federation for Animals (WFA), Ed works to integrate the role of wild animals into global climate policy, with a focus on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). He also works across other biodiversity-related conventions to strengthen animal welfare and ensure animals are more centrally represented in the United Nations agenda.

Ed previously served as Head of Intergovernmental Engagement at Whale and Dolphin Conservation, where he led all of their international policy work, with a special focus on advancing recognition of cetacean ecosystem services. Earlier in his career, he created and managed large-scale habitat restoration and community engagement initiatives as a project manager at the Woodland Trust and in local government.

He holds a degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia, where he specialised in ecology and holistic approaches to environmental and conservation challenges.

Based near Bath in the UK, Ed lives close to nature with his rescue dog, Beans, and enjoys being outdoors as much as possible.
