Janice Cox

Janice was a co-founder of World Animal Net, which has merged into the World Federation for Animals (WFA). She is now a WFA Policy Advisor, and focuses on the inclusion of animal welfare and animal issues in the environment and development.

Janice has held a variety of management and advocacy roles in the international animal welfare movement over the past 30 years. Based in South Africa, she has assisted with UN Environment and regional advocacy. She is a member of the African Platform for Animal Welfare, and spent a year working with the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE)'s Southern African office on regional strategic planning for animal welfare.

Janice was the recipient of the Humane Society International 2014 award for “extraordinary commitment and achievement for animal protection”.
